Guinness designs new Horatio’s Garden

Bunny Guinness will create a healing space for RJAH

Work has begun on a new healing garden, designed by Bunny Guinness, at the Midland Centre for Spinal Injuries at The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital (RJAH).

The latest development by Horatio’s Garden, the charity that creates accessible gardens in NHS spinal injury centres, the Oswestry Horatio’s Garden has been made possible after £675,000 was raised.

The garden has been designed to reflect the needs of the patients and their families, wrapping around the spinal unit on two sides to ensure that all patients’ windows have a view of it.

Features include social and private spaces, a flowing rill, garden therapy area and a greenhouse, while the level surface throughout offers easy access for wheelchairs and beds.
