Top prizes for Members at RHS Chatsworth

Rae Wilkinson’s winning garden

SGD Members claimed Best in Category awards as well as Gold medals at the RHS Chatsworth Flower Show

The third RHS Chatsworth Flower Show took place in Derbyshire at the beginning of June, and for the first time included a new Mindfulness Garden category, with three of the five designs created by Pre-Registered SGD Members.

Rae Wilkinson was awarded a Gold medal and Best in Category for her ‘Space Within’ Garden - a space for retreat and meditation.

Neil Sutcliffe's winning garden

Neil Sutcliffe’s ‘Eutierria’ garden, which also won a Gold, offers a relaxing area to sit and tune into nature, inspired by the cliffs along the River Trent.

Richard Rogers’ design for Thrive features a large Leaf Spirit sculpture depicting a state of mediation, with lush planting and areas of water. He was awarded a Silver Gilt medal for this peaceful garden where the boundaries between human form and nature are blurred.

Victoria Philpott’s winning garden

In the Long Borders category, Victoria Philpott won Gold and Best Long Border for her 'Bess of Hardwick' border, mixing herbs used in Elizabethan times with perennials and dashes of colour from foxtail lilies and tall poppies. Members Rachel Bailey and Nicola Sweeney also won Gold for their long border titled 'The Healing Power of Scent'.
